Back to life, a brand new reality

Today is the first day I have felt close to normal after the birth of our 4th child. For the past 10 days I've just been weak and slightly depressed and emotional. Today is also the first day that all of our other children are home and we are following a normal schedule--i.e. attending school, dad at work. I'm thankful for the time that I've had to recover, for grandparents to step in and take my children away from me, for my husband's job that allowed him to take a week off, and for the friends who've brought me dinners. Above all else I'm thankful for a safe delivery and a healthy baby boy. The delivery was wacked-out crazy:
-contractions began at 5:55 a.m.
-I called my mom at 6:45
-I paged the midwife at 7:00
-I spoke with the midwife at 7:25, we agreed to wait one hour to determine what to do next (contractions were not intense, nor highly regular)
-I paged my midwife at 7:45 to say that the intensity had increased and they were now 3 min. apart
-my mom arrived at 8:00
-we left for the hospital at 8:15
-we arrived at the hospital at 8:25
-my water broke at 8:27
-I was quickly wheeled to a room, it was suggested I might want to use the bathroom, where I immediately fell to the floor and gave birth to Speedy Gonzalez at 8:35
I am in awe of God's creation as I am confronted (rather aggressively) by the miracle of childbirth and procreation. God is amazing, and good.
